Professor Tom Wainwright is a physiotherapist, researcher and educator specialising in orthopaedic enhanced recovery. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and secured more than £8 million in research funding from research councils, government, and industry. He was lead author of the ERAS Society guidelines for hip and knee replacement and is internationally recognised for his work in rehabilitation after surgery. According to ScholarGPS®, he is ranked among the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide for research productivity, impact and quality, and is currently ranked 1st globally for Hip Replacement and 5th for Knee Replacement research. Alongside his academic work, he supports healthcare organisations and industry partners through teaching and consultancy and is a regular invited keynote speaker at international conferences.
