Henry Wong is an Assistant Professor, Consultant and Director of cardiac anesthesia at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, and specializes in both cardiac anesthesia and perioperative medicine. He obtained dual fellowship from HKCA and ANZCA, holds the Graduate of Chapter in Perioperative Medicine from ANZCA, and attained the Master of Science in Perioperative Medicine from UCL, and Master of Science in Health Service Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He currently serves as a Council Member, Assistant Secretary, Training Officer, and Deputy Chair of Board of Exam at The Hong Kong College of Anesthesiologists, and the Chairman of Training Subcommittee of Anesthesia at the Hospital Authority, Hong Kong.
His research focus on improving patient outcomes through perioperative care, including the value of a prehabilitation for general and cardiac surgical patients, efficacy of preoperative intravenous iron therapy, regional anesthesia for cardiac surgery, and use of methadone for perioperative pain management. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and serves as a reviewer for several reputed journals in anesthesiology.
