Henrik Kehlet is former Professor of Surgery at Copenhagen University and currently Professor of Perioperative Therapy at Copenhagen University.
He has published 1300 peer reviewed articles within perioperative pathophysiology, condensed into the concept of “Fast track surgery” or “Enhanced recovery”, which has achieved worldwide attention and implementation. He is an honorary member of several international anesthesia and surgical societies and recently received the BJS Society Award in 2023.
